About iTEP Academic

The iTEP Academic Exam is tailored to evaluate academic English language ability. This exam utilizes content, settings, and vocabulary found in an academic environment.

iTEP Academic is available in two formats:

• iTEP Academic – assesses Reading, Listening, and Grammar and is 50 minutes in length, with an additional 10 minutes for pre-test preparation.
• iTEP Academic-Plus – assesses Reading, Listening, Grammar, Writing, and Speaking and is 80 minutes in length, with an additional 10 minutes for pre-test preparation.

These two different versions - iTEP Academic and iTEP Academic-Plus - provide colleges, universities, English Language Institutes, and other organizations the exams they need for evaluating English language proficiency.

The iTEP Academic exams determine an overall proficiency level from 0 (Beginner) to 6 (Advanced), as well as individual proficiency levels from 0 to 6 for each of the skills tested (Reading, Listening, Grammar, Writing, Speaking).
