iTEP - International Test of English Proficiency

The Academic version of the iTEP exam provides institutions with an assessment tool that evaluates test-takers’ English ability in Reading, Listening, Grammar, Writing and Speaking. The settings and content are reflective of an academic environment.

iTEP Academic is used by academic institutions for A) making admissions decisions; B) placing students within English language programs; C) as a progress test; and D) for pre- and post-course assessment.

The test will determine an overall proficiency level from 0 (Beginner) to 6 (Advanced), as well as individual proficiency levels from 0 to 6 for each of the five skills tested (Reading, Listening, Grammar, Writing, Speaking).
